Painting is a great teacher for me. It is always challenging me in new ways between color mixing, textures, layers, and interpretation. As a painting unfolds there is an inner dialogue that gives me insight. The process is focused and enriching.

Illustration for the 2019 children's book "Stuey & Veronica" written by Teresa Pelham
This children's book focuses on a topic we might not always address with children, anxiety.
"Stuey is nervous little brown dog just trying to make it through the day without biting anyone. Even though he is a fully grown dog, he looks like a cute little puppy, so everyone wants to pet him. And that makes him anxious. He meets a wise goat named Veronica, and his whole world suddenly looks brighter."
A portion of book sales will be donated to Kenway's Cause of Hartford, CT, a 501c3 organization that's raised funds in order to provide medical care to injured animals. This is Teresa's third book and she has raised over $10,000 for animal foundations. She also visits schools around New England sharing her stories with children.
